"One Fine Day" ~ without George Clooney

I know – bummer huh?  Well, there was no room for him any who in the plot.  Okay on with the show…

I must first say: I do not always have these long or productive of days…but it is fun to see how much one can cram into a day…maybe do this little exercise next time you “feel” like you aren’t getting anything done – this was quite revealing!  And then revel and be proud of what you accomplished in a day…even if it is not doing anything – that is a huge something.

4:45amish – find myself wide awake certain it is almost 6:30 and my alarm will be going off.  I’ll just lay here and day dream a bit
5:02 – check phone and it is only 5:02.  It is only 5:02?  What in the xxx world?  Well, I guess I could try to go back to sleep…but then I’ll feel groggy when I do wake up in 1.5 hours.
5:15ish – give up trying to go back to sleep…I feel good and am ready to wake up….but I’ll just lay here and daydream a bit about (well I’m not giving all my secrets away now!)
5:40 – give up on daydreaming, grab my phone and start reading the next chapter in Living the Questions: The Wisdom of Progressive Christianity (one of about 5 or 6 books I am reading) about the Creation Stories (yes that is a plural y’all!)
6:00ish – climb out of bed, throw on some clothes and head to kitchen to get the day going.  decided I better make that soup before all those veggies go bad and I waste the food and money…
While making soup I: clean up kitchen, make some containers of salad to go, get lunch ready for the day, make coffee and realize I’m almost out of creamer (darn, need to figure in TJs now), make my daily hot breakfast, get in my posture exercises, heat the water/herbs to soak my owie foot that is still broken
7:00ish – sit down to soak foot, eat breakfast, study for my PT test (that’s personal training)
8:00ish – text a few friends a few questions, do a few other things, finish getting ready for work, read some more of Living the Questions (I’m addicted to reading if you haven’t guessed)
8:20ish – climb in car and head to work, notice Target is open (when did they start opening at 8???) and decided to “run” in with my storm trooper boot and get some small earrings to replace the beautiful pearl ones I always year.  If you must know – they were a wedding present from the former partner…and they go with EVERYTHING.  But, I am cleansing myself these days and sadly feel these must go…
8:45ish – pull into work…not a bad start to the day

Won’t bore you with all that I did at work…except I did fit in another 10 mins or so of study time!

1:30 – head to the Peet’s coffee for another 50 mins or so of study time…I’m on a mission.
2:32 – alarm goes off – time to go get the kids!
2:38 – in the car and driving up Santa Cruz Ave, call the gym to make a reservation for kids so I can swim in this extremely hot weather…”I’m melting….”
2:51 – pull into the parking lot of school in plenty of time to pick up kid #1 in the back of the church and then swing back around and pick up kid #2 in the front…that is if kid #1 cooperates and gets their stuff quickly…oh and shh don’t tell but I totally forgot to put the car seats back in the car after my weekend get-away…oops!!
3:01 – pick up kid #2, head to the gym
3:19 – arrive at the gym, check the kids in but the child care needs to update my cc (that’s credit card) info…takes another 10 mins of my time and they still haven’t been able to charge me…things that make you go hmmm.
3:38 – hop in the pool for a 1 mile or swim
4:10 – hop out of the pool and soak in the rays for a few minutes
4:35 – heading out of the locker room to study till 5
5:02 – pick up kids, finally get my cc charged, head to dinner
5:35 – arrive at Baja Fresh to find it is closed…drive over to Five Guys (oh yea baby – this is like becoming a weekly tradition, will need to fit in more workouts I think)
Dinner, homework with kid #2, a little downtime before …
6:25 – back in car headed to SJ for a program at a local church for kid #2
6:45 – arrive at church, have a few minutes for kids to play on play ground while kid #2 insists I draw his model BMW that is completely thrashed…
7:00 – drop off kid #2 for his program, head over to TJ with kid #1
7:25 – back in car headed back to church where kid #1 will play while I – you guessed it – study!
8:15 – read some other stuff needing to be read for kid #2, check emails briefly and make mental notes of more that has to get done, love on kid #1 for a bit
8:30 – pick up kid #2 and head home
9:05ish – arrive home, kid #1 insists on taking a bath because he is dirty (like it has ever bothered him before) before going to bed.
I unpack lunches from today, set up to get lunches ready tomorrow morning, clean up kitchen again (what, I wasn’t even home today!), check on kids, clean up their room, start collecting computer and toys for long day tomorrow
9:30 – kids are in bed and I lay down with kid #2 to spend some “quality time” drawing words on the back (didn’t you love this when you were a kid?)
9:40 – head back downstairs to get car seats back in car, get the groceries and drop off the recycling
10:00 – put away the groceries, heat up water to soak my owie foot again and decide I will make a list of things I can do at 5am or maybe I can push it to 6 and instead write down my day – a much more fun way to end my day.  Bills/Budget?  That can wait for tomorrow.  Oh, but first must delete all the junk emails I don’t have time to get off the lists for, then get frustrated at the “slowness” of my computer and internet connection…maybe it is the full moon.  Seems to affect everyone and everything!

Now 10:45 and I still have to use this bone ultrasound thingy on my foot which is 20 mins.  So I better get going as my to-do list for tomorrow morning is starting to sky rocket.  So off to bed I go – lather, rinse and repeat for tomorrow!

Blessings to you,
~ the Joy gal
