Play time is NOT just for kids peeps. We need it our whole lives thru!
Part of what I want to share with you mamas is that there is no need to work out! Seriously (and I’m a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and more).
What we need is PLAY – old fashioned, bring back the joy of being in our bodies – move how you want to move without a care in the world!
Somethings we just never outgrow like the
* need to create art (finger painting, pastels, chalks, dance, writing, etc – these can all be EMBODIED play times)
* dance/move in a non-structured way
* climbing on our friends – otherwise known as acroyoga
* naps too!
Now, what I am NOT SAYING is this: give up your favorite classes at the gym. If you still LOVE them and they bring you Joy and you can Play instead of work – then by all means keep them! Simply switch the flip in your brain and language to call it “I’m going to play,” or something like this.
Benefits of play at any age (just some of them):
* reduce your cortisol levels
* relaxes your stressed face muscles (in you laugh more!)
* feel more resilient and able to handle the other times in life
* sleep better
* have better sex (what more do you need?)
* love your body
