LoudVoices-HeroOur society teaches us to listen to all the other voices OUT there instead of teaching us how to tune in and listen to our Inner Voice – ESPECIALLY when it comes to our parenting.

The OUT THERE voices tend to be louder.  You know them well: TV, the web,  the radio, magazines and tabloids,  the parenting books, our parents/teachers/friends, our churches or other religious institutions and even our politicians.

The louder voices are also found inside.  They are the voices of doubt, worry, judgement and condemnation.  They are the voices that tell us we are not good enough, we are not fit to be a mom,  or that we know too little.

All of these LOUDER voices separate and distance us from our Source, which can lead us to reaction mode out of confusion instead of proactive mode out of KNOWING.

So what is the Source?

Our own Inner Voice – which is formulated from our own EXPERIENCES.

That’s right.  Our experiences are our very best Source from which to parent consciously.

And our Experiences will inform our Inner Voice, which will inform us on how to go forward, sit still for a few more minutes or turn right instead of left.

Without being deeply connected to your own Inner Voice – what I call your Mama Wolf Voice – your parenting will seem lacking. You will question EVERYTHING you do and spend needless hours letting other people’s opinions and advice dictate your every move.  I cannot tell you how draining on your energy this is – and perhaps you already know.

While you might have lost connection with and/or been trained out of listening to your Inner Voice, She is still here for you.  She is still speaking to you in mysterious ways, begging for you to put on your detective cap and to have fun finding her again.

This Inner Voice may not have an audible voice. She may speak to you in impulses, sensations, colors and in metaphors or symbols that She brings to mind, usually repeatedly.  She most definitely will speak to you through your Monthly Rhythm, desires and longings.  If she really wants to get your attention, She will speak to you in your physical ailments, PMS, dis-ease and even through your reactions to others. Her ways of speaking are numerous.

This Inner Voice is asking you to see, hear, feel, and taste Her again – like you did when you were young.  So you can once again give Her a Voice in your life.  So that She can help you find your Voice, your Truth and your way – especially as a mom.

(Re)Training yourself to hear, listen and follow your Inner Voice will take work, patience, a diligent “inner ear” and sticktuitiveness.  It will take COPIOUS amounts of Kindness poured out on yourself, especially when those Louder Voices want to drown HER out, tell Her she is crazy, insane and stupid.

well_2182017bYet the reward of this work is beyond words, and can be fun while you are at it!  Learning to trust your Inner Voice will ground you into your world, giving you sure footing from which to mother your children, love your partner and give your gifts to the world.  Feeding your Inner Voice with attention will ensure you have a sound-proof well, help you fill that well and then be able to give to all of life from your abundance.
