The Practice of Celebrating Death this Thursday 9/27

Once upon a time, Women and the Feminine were the Gatekeepers of Life, and thus Death.  Gatekeepers to the Mystery that is the Space Between, and the Space Beyond.  They knew how to both grieve and praise, mourn and celebrate.  The Sisters of yesteryear created day long rituals – and then some.

There is sooo much I could share about this practice, this metaphor of life and death.  I shared in last week’s post here.  I share in the video below.  Yet, I feel that the dance of the Body – that Body Language itself is the best expression of this immensely deep, rich, mysterious force that when understood – makes life that much richer and meaningful to live.

I invite you into this space this Thursday, holding the Masculine Banks for y’all so you can drop in and experience this Feminine Rite of passage.  Please come with whatever you have.  A basic altar will be set up where you can place anything that resembles death.

Also, towards the end of this video, I share the reason why these are the last two Movement Medicine Dances -Santa Cruz.  I hope you will watch all the way through!

I am SOOO thankful to all you brave Conscious Dance Rebel Pioneers that have embarked on yet another experiment in the CD community, with Movement Medicine and with me.  I have learned an incredible amount that I will be taking with me into a sabbatical I am taking in the Spring of next year.
