Week in Preview

Many thoughts as this week begins that I hope to be able to do justice to in the written form…guess we will see.

But as one of my kiddos keeps coming out with different excuses for why sleep is not coming – 3 hours after this one was put to bed…I find myself ready to turn in even though I have SO much besides writing I need to do…but writing is so much more fun than that other stuff, so I will procrastinate a day longer.

Yet, I do not plan on writing tonight either, as I am trying to be the adult in my household – the mother I am to my kiddos and get some much needed rest.  No, instead I am leaving you with some homework until the next time we meet again…as well as a quick sneak peak of what to expect from this week, unless God changes my path which can always happen.  Guess you will just have to read to find out!

* Tomorrow or Wednesday – my saga with the main sanctuary at MPPC doesn’t seem to be over as the Lord keeps leading me back to redeem me of my past there.  Read this in the coming post: Facing My Demons #3 – Eclipse!

* The rest of the week I will be helping those of you that are unfamiliar with living in oppression (which I pray most of you are) get a glimpse into what a daily life might look like…and to see if you can see the the ever so subtle difference between what a healthy relationship would look like verses the one I will pose to you.

* After the above posts (which I wrote last night and was 9 pages!…maybe it will get into my book), I will help analyze some of the barriers for abused to get out of the grasp of the abuser…a much harder task than the healthy person would ever realize – and where the people inside the church often times end up hurting more than helping…but I am hoping that this tide will turn with more education like one finds on this sight. I am eternally optimistic!

* Hopefully, I will find a way to work in some fun posts as well here and there…as my goal is not to make this blog all about abuse …but about how to help yourself and others through the dull drums of life!

Here is your homework: watch the following videos, which were pretty much the whole sermon on Sunday at MPPC…that’s it!

1) Faith Story: Ken LaPoint

2) Lament – Pastor Kevin Kim on the saddest song/Psalm in the Bible: Psalm 88…as he states, be prepared to be moved!

3) Shine – video by one of my favorite bands that is leaving us…David Crowder Band.  This was the song we sang at the end of service…here’s a link to their lyrics

P.S. (just normal old PS) – I watched the above music video and their other video “How He Loves” with my eldest…at which point the phone was asked for so the microphone recording could be utilized.  I then heard my eldest singing “How He Loves” over and over again into the phone trying to get the right lyrics.  My heart was bursting…later the youngest joined in grabbing the toy xylophone we have and singing a different praise and worship song.  Maybe we are going to be a family Worship band??  The  Von McCormick Family Performers?  (reference “Sound of Music”!)
