Well, the weekend is over. My brain is fried….my body – probably won’t be able to move tomorrow…but all I can hear is “1-2-3, 1-2-3” and find myself moving to the Salsa, Merengue and Cumbia beats in my head ….even if my body is not moving.
I am not sure if Temptation Island or Reality Island will win out in the end….but all I know is I cannot wait to start teaching Zumba. Zumba will definitely have to be part of the Practice Joy regimen in some way, shape or form. If you have never tried this class – I just have to plug it and ask that you give it a shot. Our bodies were meant to move….almost every culture in the world has a dance, except us Americans…I don’t think one could call Rave and street dancing a culture dance (but let me know if this is judgmental for I don’t want to do that!)…and when you put that together with our mandate from the Creator to celebrate….Zumba is REALLY the perfect solution!
The only downer about today is that, after getting done early, zooming to the airport and through security and boarding an earlier than expected flight….I still missed out on an awesome (so I heard) worship night at church for Menlo’s new Rise Up album. And I hear there is not going to be a repeat…so very, very sad…
The good news from arriving after the band was starting to clean up: in talking to just the few people I talked with…they are ALL on board to be my guinea pigs for Zumba as I learn my choreography and cuing…in which I am BOUND to mess up a lot…I am a white chic…but do not you worry – I have an Emergency Step we can all go to!
The other fun news is that as I share with more people about my Practice Joy concept, they are all excited about it and my FB page is growing. If you haven’t joined yet…please do so! Click on Practice Joy and “Like” the page. Then ask your friends to join…and their friends to join. I will be putting some material together and would love some people to help me test it out…and start talking about the concept as well!
Okay – off to that pillow and sweet, sweet sleep….hope you find a moment today (since you will probably be reading this Monday morning) to go out and practice celebrating something – whether big or small – in your life…no matter what situation you are in!
Blessings to all!
